Thomas Kinkade's visit to Broadway What a memorable day 9th July 2004 was for Thomas Kinkade collectors and fans. Judith and Dennis Avis of Thomas Kinkade gallery on the High Street staged an event at the Lifford Hall for Thom. He spoke about his work, beliefs and signed paintings and books for collectors. Over 250 people attended the event and were enthralled by the 'Walk of Light' - 20 years of Thomas Kinkade. Thom did a unique sketch on the back of one of his paintings which was auctioned for £3000.00 and we were happy to donate all the proceeds to St. Richard's hospice. With Thom, was his dear wife, Nanette and two eldest daughters Merrit and Chandler. During the week that Thom was in Broadway, he was spotted sketching and painting the gallery, in the pouring rain, we may add, so we're hoping that it won't be long before we see a Thomas Kinkade painting of 51, High Street, Broadway!

WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING IN THE GALLERY?Thom's Recent visit in July
On 26th April 2004, we were visited by Rick Barnett, Thom’s greatest friend and mentor. He came to sign copies of his new book ’20 years of Thomas Kinkade’ Luckily, we were blessed with a wonderful day and Rick was able to take everyone outside the gallery and keep us up to date with Thom’s news and information.
He then went on to sign copies of the book (we still have a few with his signature for sale in the gallery). We are the only gallery in the world to be featured in the book, we consider it a great honour. There is a lovely photograph of the front of our pretty gallery on page 147.
The Thomas Kinkade Broadway Gallery is 2 years oldWe celebrated our birthday with a special event and book signing on 25th April. We had a steady flow of Collectors from 1pm until 5pm who enjoyed the Paintings and Refreshments. A good time was had by all! Sandy, who helps us at Special Events, had seen Thom at Disneyland in USA while she was on holiday. She went up to him while he was painting scenes to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Disneyland – he’s the official artist and his painting should be released sometime in 2005 – she was so lucky to have been there at the same time as him and he took time to say hello to her and her family.
