Lion Cottage was built as four stone cottages around the end of the 18th century Lion Cottage now forms a single residence but with the North End remodelled in 1983 and further improved and extended in 1984 to provide holiday accommodation in an independent. self-contained wing with its own garden area to the rear. The owners occupy the main part of the cottage and garden; link doors (see sketch plan) are opened only for cleaning. The front of Lion Cottage gives onto the minor road linking Chipping Campden with Broad Campden. a very picturesque small Cotswold village. It has a church and pub but no shops; Chipping Campden amply fulfils such needs just 3/4 mile along the road. The cottage faces SW and there are fields opposite. In this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Chipping Campden can be the starting point for visits to a wide range of Cotswold villages. places of interest and larger towns and cities such as Cheltenham. Oxford and Strattord-upon-Avon. There are many walks in and around Broad Campden and Chipping Campden. |
